Rosa damascena Mill. — Rose Water, Rose Hydrosol
Rose Damascena floral water is the pure hydrosol produced as a co-distillate during steam distillation of fresh Rosa damascena petals from Bioform's own 120-hectare certified organic plantation. As the steam passes through the fresh petals and condenses, it carries with it the water-soluble aromatic and active compounds of the rose — including phenyl ethyl alcohol, geraniol and citronellol — in a gentle, skin-compatible aqueous form.
Bioform's rose water is collected directly from the distillation condenser and is never re-distilled, diluted, or reconstituted with added essential oil. It is produced in the same distillation run as our Rose Damascena essential oil, meaning every batch of floral water shares the traceability and certification of the oil. Applications include facial toners, mists and essences, as a botanical active in skincare formulations, as a flavouring ingredient in confectionery and beverages, and in pharmaceutical topical preparations.
