Prunus amygdalus Batsch.
Sweet almond oil is one of the most widely used carrier oils in cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications, valued for its mild emollient properties, light texture and excellent skin absorption. Cold pressed from the kernels of Prunus amygdalus, Bioform's almond oil is produced without heat or solvents — preserving the full fatty acid profile, vitamin E content and natural skin-conditioning compounds.
Rich in oleic acid (approximately 70%) and linoleic acid, sweet almond oil has exceptional moisturising properties and is suitable for all skin types. It is widely used as a base in massage oils, body lotions, lip balms and hair treatments, as well as in pharmaceutical topical preparations requiring a non-irritating, stable carrier.
